Around 300 sacks of mud and trash were removed by 50 joint personnel during a community clean-up drive in the Seruni Park area, Jalan Hemat, Jelambar Urban Village, West Jakarta, Sunday (11/1).
The effort centered on unclogging drainage systems
Jelambar Urban Village Head Pradista Machdala Putra said, the cleanup brought together PPSU personnel alongside task units from the sub-district’s Parks and Urban Forests and Water Resources offices.
"The effort centered on unclogging drainage systems and pruning dense, leafy trees in the Jalan Hemat area, RT 05/RW 03," he expressed.

Personnel also conducted a sweep and desilted roughly 150 meters of drainage throughout the vicinity.
"The drainage channels across the area vary in width and height," he added.
The street's connecting channel is roughly 3 meters wide and 2 meters deep, whereas the smaller micro-drainage lines are around 50 centimeters wide with 70 deep centimeters.
According to him, the clearing of micro-channels was performed by Jelambar's PPSU personnel, while the Water Resources Task Force of Grogol Petamburan Sub-district tackled the main connecting channel.
"Having personnel directly involved in this communal work reflects the government’s tangible commitment to standing with the community to keep our surroundings clean," he added.
He hoped that such cleanups will continue on a regular basis, creating a clean, healthy, and livable neighborhood safe from waste and flood risks.
